Ministry of Finance Northrhine-Westfalia
The Ministry of Finance Northrhine-Westfalia, Germany, recently signed for 11.000 copies of Glink for Windows. With renewals that brings them up to a total of 20.000 licenses between 1996 and 1998.
In Northrhine-Westfalia there are 111 Finance-Departments and 1 Finance-Accounting-Centre (RZF) using Glink to access Tax applications running on Unix.
William Limpert was instrumental in the sale, by 'identifying the customer's pain' and conceiving a unified use of the function keys in Glink for all the customer applications.
William was able to use his longstanding relationship with the customer (from 1974) to conceive his solution to the problems. His concept was implemented in a Glink script, and with the aid of Peter Janz and Rolf Fuhlroth in the Bull support team they were able to convince the customer that Glink was the right medicine for 'the pain'.
Further, depite competition, the price of Glink licenses at these volumes proved to be unbeatable.
