Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E1027: GlinkW, non-standard screen size

Product: GlinkW
Platform: All
Status: Fixed for 7.2.4, 7.1.8, 6.2.8
Last updated: 2004-12-08 14:32:33

If you use the 'adjust screen rows/columns' option
in Settings->Screen->Window Attributes then you can
resize your terminal screen to something other than
the normal 24x80 screen. Many Unix applications are
aware of screen size and will make use of any
additional screen space you provide in this way.

However, Glink was not providing the information
at login time, only when the screen was actually
resized. This meant that if you logged into the
host with (say) a 40-line screen then the host
would only use the standard 24-line area, at least
until you resized the screen to something else.

Note that with the default command line you will
not be able to resize to anything larger than 43
lines - if you wish to use more than this you
should use the /Rnn parameter to specify a larger
number.

Workaround: resize the screen after logging in
rather than before.
