Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E1030: Host Links UNIX products failed to recognize cursor application mode

Product: All Host Links using VT video module for display
Platform: Any (discovered
Status: Fixed for 6.2
Last updated: 2005-02-11 11:33:04

The Host links products (Gdir, Gman, Qsim, V78sim, G3270)
running on UNIX platforms and using the VT module for display on
VT terminals failed to recognize the cursor keys if the cursor
keypad was in application mode.

It is very unusual to set the cursor keypad on a VT terminal to
application mode (except within specific applications). We saw
this problem only on Solaris, where the is2 reset sequence
included the VT control sequence to do this.

   is2=\E[?7h\E[>\E[?1h\E\sF\E[?4l,

\E[?1h is the offending sequence. The Host Links VT100/VT200
display modules have been corrected to recognize the cursor keys
in application mode as well as normal mode.

The work around is to modify the is2 reset sequence. We believe
that this is an error in the is2 delivered from Sun, and \E[?1h
should be changed to \E[?1l (Reset cursor application mode).

Note also that the string \E[> is meaningless. We think this is
another error from Sun, and should be corrected to \E> (set the
numeric keypad to numeric).
