Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E1050: Glink, custom hotspot button problems in CHAR/TEXT/TXRET

Product: Glink EE and Glink PE 8.0
Platform: All Win32
Status: Fixed for 8.0.1
Last updated: 2005-05-11 07:25:59

Custom hotspot button could behave unexpectedly when in
CHAR/TEXT/TXRET modes. Custom hotspot buttons are configured
using:

  Settings->Screen->Facelifting->Pushbuttons->Custom...

If the cursor was positioned under a hotspot button, the button
picked up the focus. Keyboard input went into the button
control, and keys such as space or enter would trigger the
button macro.

This has been corrected to allow you type in data in the normal
way. The button will only react to mouse clicks.

Work around: do not position buttons in areas where you wish to
type.

An associated problem was that custom buttons would appear if you
typed in the screen text that was configured to trigger the
hotspot button.

This has been corrected for communication interfaces that use a
TURN indicator (GlinkDGA, Ggate DSA/DIWS, TNVIP, TN3270, TN5250,
etc.). The hotspot scan is only done once, when Glink receives
the turn.

Asynchronous connections (telnet, COM ports, Modem etc.) will
still see this behaviour.

Work around: use an interface with turn. If you are forced to
use an asynchronous interface, choose hotspot-triggering strings
that you are unlikely to type from the keyboard.
