Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0146: 'False' cursors left on screen

Product: Glink
Platform: Win
Status: Closed, fixed in 5.4.2
Last updated: 1996-10-03 12:59:29

Sometimes there are 'extra' cursors left on the Glink screen when
the screen is updated (this tends to be only on specific machines
running specific applications, often those with high line
activity in both directions simultaneously). The problem is being
caused by a bug found in a number of screen drivers, and a fix that
attempts to avoid hitting this bug will be included with release
5.4.2 and later. A partial workaround for those using earlier
releases is to set the 'update threshold' (Settings, screen,
window attributes) to a fairly low number of characters - typically
40 or less. This will usually help to a certain degree, although
some experimentation may be required to find an optimum number
for the threshold.
