Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0265: Gspool did not convert DPF8-DS parameters to lower case

Product: Gspool
Platform: All
Status: fixed in 5.0.1
Last updated: 1997-07-02 10:03:21

The DPF8-DS queue name and option strings are in upper case due to
GCOS8 JCL history. Gspool did not convert them to lowercase before
using these strings as printer queue and printer option in the UNIX
environment where lower case is the general rule. After the correction a
DPF8-DS queue name, e.g. 'LEXMARK', and a DPF8-DS option, e.g.
'NOBANNER', are delivered as '-dlexmark' and '-onobanner' for use with
the print command (usually 'lp') assigned to Gspool using -PC parameter.

On Windows NT, the printer queue is still used as delivered from DPF8-DS
(in uppercase). The DPF8-DS options have no logical mapping to the
Windows NT environment.
