Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0027: QSIM Blink/Blank problem in 7700 mode

Product: Host Links 4.0.0, Qsim
Platform: Any
Status: Closed, fixed in 4.0.1 and 4.1.0
Last updated: 1996-07-19 01:01:32

Original customer report:

I believe that we have found a bug in QSIM in relation to the "-BB" option.
We have the "-BB on" option set in the default qsim.cfg file to allow users
to enter the "^" character in a text field to cause the following word to
blink. From what I have read in the VIP7700 manual, this should cause all
following characters to blink - up to the first space or the end of line,
whichever comes first. With QSIM however, the 'blink' attribute is not
reset when the user enters a space, causing the whole line to blink.

The problem is that Qsim emulates both 7700 and DKU terminals, in this
particular case the DKU way of handling blink/blank was chosen, which is
incorrect for the customers 7700 based application. A new Qsim option
called -OZ has been introduced. Turning it on enables the 7700 blink/blank
terminate at space feature.
