Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0305: Glink duplicates print block

Product: Glink 16 bit version 5.4 and 6.0
Platform: all
Status: open
Last updated: 1997-08-13 16:49:42

When Glink is being used with a Datanet terminal manager which merges a
separate print session into the Glink data stream and Glink is configured
for direct print, a flow control problem can arise. The Datanet uses
PDENQ (print delayed enquiry) to test if each print block has been
successfully printed. If the Glink print buffer is almost full Glink will
report back that the printer channel is busy. This causes the Datanet to
retransmit the print block, which is then duplicated on the printer.

If the Glink option 'report printer status' is chosen this will happen much
sooner.

In the 32 bit version the 'direct print' functionality is removed.

The get-around is to use Windows printing rather than direct.
