Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0308: Glink 32 bit, capture file cannot be shared

Product: Glink 6.0.0 32 bit version
Platform: all
Status: fixed in 6.0.1
Last updated: 1997-10-01 13:11:43

The 16 bit version of Glink opens the capture file in such a way that
several instances of Glink can share the same file, and with careful
management of file flushing with capture on/off a log can be built which
optionally includes or overwrites the immediately preceding session. The
capture file may also be examined during capture by a file viewer, or even
an editor.

The 32 bit version allocates the file such that it cannot be shared, not
even with a file viewer. This may be a file-sharing configuration issue in
the 32 bit Windows environment.

The get-around is to always turn off capture in one instance of Glinke
before turning it on in the next, or before looking at it with a viewer or
an editor. Alternatively use the 16 bit version of Glink (which supports
most Windows 95 functionality, including long file names).
