Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0564: Glink/Ggate, double break causes disconnect

Product: Ggate
Platform: All
Status: Fixed in 5.3, the fix can be installed on a 5.2 system
Last updated: 1999-09-17 16:04:11

Some applications on GCOS8 (Console manager and DPF Store and
Forward) are normally in 'output only' mode, and use the break
signal to call the attention of the application, which then
issues a prompt, and waits for an input command. In this
situation the user has the DSA 'turn'.

If the user at this point issues a new break, some of these
applications try to issue a new prompt, against the 'turn'. This
causes the user terminal to be disconnected. This is an error in
the applications, but is very irritating for the users.

This 'correction' in Ggate introduces a new application mode
'-am cons'. The parameter causes Ggate to supress new breaks
after the user has received the 'turn'. For the user's
convenience this parameter also turns on the '-brk at' parameter
(see Error E0562) to supress purge of output on the initial
break.
