Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0571: Lotus Notes problem with identically named attachments

Product: Glotus/Lotus Notes 4.5
Platform: Windows NT
Status: Fixed
Last updated: 1999-10-12 17:20:37

Lotus Notes is unable to properly handle the situation where a Glotus
message has multiple identically named attachments. When viewing the
attachment, Notes only displays the contents of the first one.

For example, a Gmail message sent to a Notes addressee has one message text
and three different attachments, all named "text_7.txt". All attachments
were sent correctly to Notes, but only the first of the three "text_t.txt"
attachments could be read. If you tried to read the second or third
attachment, you would see the content of the first one.

Glotus is now changed so that the logical name of all attachments now start
with the letter 'a', attachment number, a period, and the original logical
attachment name. Using the example above, the logical attachment names sent
to Lotus Notes from Glotus would be "aNNN.text_7.txt" where NNN is 002 thru
004.
