Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0608: Ggate, user count sometimes incorrect

Product: Host Links
Platform: Windows NT, ver
Status: Fixed in 5.3
Last updated: 2000-04-06 16:41:51

Starting on release 5.2.1. Ggate maintains
a count of 'users' as well as a count of
host sessions. These counts are visible from
Gmonitor. Ggate now identifies a user either
by the IP address or by a new unique Glink
supplied identifier, introduced in Glink 6.1,
called a 'GUID'. A new Ggate parameter
(-uid GUID/ip) was introduced and would be
used to tell Ggate which of these 2 types of
identifiers to use.

The NT version of Ggate always looked for the
GUID and hence the user count was incorrectly
updated in e.g. configurations where older
(than 6.1) Glinks were used.
