Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0641: gl_tcp, TN3270e passed turn to early

Product: Host Links, TCP/IP line handler
Platform: Any
Status: Fix available for 5.3.1
Last updated: 2000-07-20 11:27:18

Some TN3270E servers (e.g. the AIX server)
sends some initial service information with
turn (NVT_DATA with EOR). When the line moduled
passed the turn to the application (e.g. to Gweb),
the application dialog is kicked off too early
and an extra transmit would be required in
order to get syncronized.

The line module now ignores the premature
turn from the server and do not pass the
turn until real TN3270E data is received.

This logic is controlled by a new boolean
parameter called '-INVT' (ignore NVT turn).
Default value is 'ON'.
