Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0646: Marben stack frame padding problems

Product: Marben OSI stack v. 1.2.1
Platform: Windows NT
Status: Fixed
Last updated: 2000-08-02 16:11:27

The 1.2.1 version of the Marben stack distributed with
Host Links 5.3 had an error in the lower OSI LAN link
layer (LLC) which caused short frames always to be padded
up to the min. frame size (64 octets) but without taking
into account the frame CRC bytes. This caused some host
side OSI stacks (e.g. some DNS-C versions and GCOS6) to
reject the frame.

The typical symptoms are Host Links applications (e.g.
Glink through Ggate) failing to connect with error
message 'Connect timeout'.

An updated version of the stack can be downloaded from
our FTP server.
