Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0067: Gmailer for windows not accepting connects.

Product: GmailerW 4.4.0
Platform: Windows NT 3.51
Status: Closed, fixed in gl_tcp.exe 4.4.1b, available
Last updated: 1996-07-25 15:03:35

Problem description:

Sometimes when gmailer should return to it's listening state it fails.
There's no visible errors, but the gmailer doen't accept connects.

Problem cause:

The problem was caused when more than one application was listening
to the same port number. Gl_tcp.exe did not detect this. The winsock
seems to return incoming connection to the either of the application
at random.

Gl_tcp now errors with an "$$TCP:bind failed errno:10048" if another
application is listening on the same IP port.

This problem could have possibly existed on other winsock implementations.
