Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0674: Gweb incorrect table alignment

Product: Gweb in Host Links 5.3.1 and earlier
Platform: All
Status: Fixed in 5.4
Last updated: 2000-11-24 16:22:22

When using a browser to display terminal screen images the input
fields are rendered in 3D. The 3D effect is achieved by using
some space in the browser display. This causes following fields
to be displaced. In Netscape the displacement is exactly a
character to the right for each 3D field. In IE the displacement
varies, because IE uses a different font in the input fields, so
that the displacement is proportional to the length of the
field, and may be to the left or right. This means that columnar
input fields on the screen will not be positioned under fixed
text headings when seen in the browser.

In Gweb 5.4 an option is added for columnar positioning. When in
effect the HTML generated by Gweb is rather more complex, and
ensures that all 'words' and input fields on the screen that
start in the same column are aligned in the browser display.
