Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0684: Glink, URLSHOW, "Unable to execute associated application"

Product: Glink for Windows
Platform: All Windows
Status: Fixed for 6.2.3 and 7.0
Last updated: 2000-12-12 15:41:47

The URLSHOW script command could error with an "Unable to execute associated
application" error if the associated application has added quote characters
round the command .EXE file in the CLASSES registry. This is the case,
for example, of all the newer releases of Microsoft Internet Explorer, the
below will fail:

  URLSHOW "http://www.gar.no/demos.htm"

In most cases, the filename and path of the .EXE file is in short name
format in the registry, removing the quotes solves the problem, e.g. for IE
this would be in:

	(default)	"D:\PROGRA~1\INTERN~1\iexplore.exe" -nohome

can be changed to:
	(default)	D:\PROGRA~1\INTERN~1\iexplore.exe -nohome
