Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0733: Gweb external script problem clearing user-defined variables

Product: Gweb 6.0
Platform: Any
Status: Fixed, available
Last updated: 2001-09-28 12:16:06

Using Gweb External Scripts, you can set and clear the contents of a
user-defined variable. For example, to set variable 7, output

   1007\n
   value\n

The problem appears when the variable is the last (or only) variable to be
set (cleared), so that the output from the external script is like this:

   1007\n
   \n

Gweb will remove any trailing CR/LF from the input stream (which is the
same as the output from the external script). This means that when Gweb
starts to process the script result, it reads only

  1007\n

and misses the line containing the parameter value.

Avoidance procedure: Add an extra parameter after the one being cleared.
For example,

   1007\n
   \n
   1050\n
   dummy-value\n

When Gweb reads this, it removes the contents of parameter 7, and then
sets a dummy value in parameter 50.
