Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0746: GwebS leaks memory

Product: GwebS
Platform: Windows
Status: Fixed, available
Last updated: 2001-11-13 10:49:08

The GwebS HTTP server for Windows uses one thread per request, to speed up processing and minimize task switching overhead. About 8KB memory that was allocated during thread initialization was not released when the thread terminated. This 8KB memory is not returned to Windows until the main GwebS process terminates. The type of request is irrelevant; the leak occurs both when connecting to a host (any emulation)

The Unix versions does not use threading, and do not have memory leakage problems.
