Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0766: Gspool, session not aborted if IO errors occured

Product: Gspool
Platform: Any
Status: Fixed in 5.3, 6.0 and 6.1
Last updated: 2002-01-25 11:59:55

If I/O error occured while writing printdata that was received
on the active session, error messages would be written to the
logfile but the session was not abnormally terminated by
Gspool. This implied that Gspool was not signalling the failure
to the host and host would not retry the request automatically

This is now corrected; if an IO error occur while the host session
is still up, Gspool now aborts the session.

An error message is written in the log and in the debug file.
Additionally a print error counter will be updated and will
be displayed in the Gmanager server window.
