Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0819: Gweb, auto-tab to next field skipped full fields

Product: Gweb
Platform: All
Status: Fix available, fixed in R6.0.1 and 6.1
Last updated: 2002-08-16 17:25:54

The autotab support in gweb.js could give an extra skip if the
user typed fast, and the following field was full.

This was because the autotab function was engaged only by the
key up event. When a user types fast, a second key may generate
a keydown and keypress event before the first key is released.
The second key typed is lost, because the autotab has not been
performed and the first field is full, but the release of the
first key then does the autotab, and the release of the second
key causes an extra tab if the following field is full.

The keydown event now does the autotab if the keyup event has
not already done it. This has the side effect of never losing a
keystroke, and always autotabbing, even when a key is held down
and repeated by the keyboard driver (no keyup). i.e. you can now
fill multiple fields by holding down a key.
