Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0842: GwebS, incorrect count of active host sessions

Product: GwebS 6.0
Platform: All Unix
Status: Fixed in 6.0.3
Last updated: 2002-10-23 11:57:51

GwebS maintains a count of active host sessions. This count is
used for local statistics -- it is visible in the Gmanager
server overview -- but it is also reported to Gproxy.

Gproxy, in load-balancing mode, uses this number in an algorithm
that computes which of several cooperating GwebS servers has the
lowest load, and is hence best suited to run new host sessions.
In this situation it is very important that the number of active
host sessions reported from GwebS is correct.

In some circumstances, GwebS calculated this host session count
incorrectly. The number could even become negative. The code
that deals with the active session count is now changed to be
more robust.
