Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0869: GlinkW, GPROFILE of item that doesn't exist nulls variable

Product: Glink Professional 7.1
Platform: All Win32
Status: Fixed for 7.1.5
Last updated: 2003-02-28 11:27:05

The GPROFILE script command returned an empty string if the
requested item didn't exist. It should have left the script
variable unchanged.

For example, if the [boot.description] section of your
SYSTEM.INI file contains the following line:

then executing the following script command:

GPROFILE %1 "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM.INI" "boot.description" "codepage"

would place "850" in script variable number 1. If the specified
item does not exist then the contents of the script variable
will remain unchanged, so normally this should be initialized
with the default value of the option you are collecting.

The error nulled %1 if the "codepage" item didn't exist.

Work-around, assign the default after you call, if the string
returned is null:

GProfile %1 "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM.INI" "boot.description" "codepage"
If (%1 EQ '') Assign %1'850'
