Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0886: Glink, 5250 DUP key incorrectly implemented

Product: Glink for Windows and Java
Platform: All Windows and
Status: Fixed for 7.1.5 and 6.2.8, fix available for GlinkJ
Last updated: 2003-06-12 07:52:39

Glink's IBM5250 emulation incorrectly implemented the DUP key
(Ctrl+D). It performed the 3270 functionality of writing a
single 0x1C character (displayed as a small triangle) in the
field and tabbing.

This is corrected so that 'DUP enabled' fields (set by the
FFW of the field definition) accept the DUP Key (Ctrl+D) and
fill the field from the current cursor position to the end of
the field with the DUP (0x1C) character. Glink displays
these as asterisks for compatibility with the 5250.

Glink beeps if the DUP key is used in fields that are not DUP
