Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0911: Ggate, alternative port in services file failed

Product: Ggate 6.1
Platform: Windows
Status: Fix available, fixed in R6.1.1
Last updated: 2003-09-03 14:03:17

Ggate must be started with an alternative port number if Gproxy
is used for load balancing, because Gproxy takes over the
default Ggate port.

One method of starting Ggate for Windows with an alternative
port number for client access is to define it in the TCP/IP
'services' file, located in the directory:

   %SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\Etc

R6.1 Ggate (gg_tcp.exe) did not convert the defined portnumber
to network byte order.

Work around. Use the '-lp portnumber'. From the manual:

Use the Ggate -LP command line parameter to configure another
port number e.g.

   gg_tcp.exe -lp 30843 -nb
