Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0956: Gweb, browser displays JS error when automatically refreshed

Product: Gweb 6.1
Platform: All
Status: Fixed for 6.1.1
Last updated: 2003-12-19 15:13:47

If the JavaScript "guard" mechanism is enabled, which it is by
default, and Gweb needs to automatically refresh the screen, a
JavaScript warning message appears, discouraging you from
leaving the host session, just as if you had typed in an
external URL in your browser.

Gweb automatically refreshes the screen if your host application
fails to send data within your 'data wait' (-dw) timeout, or
fails to give you the turn within your 'refresh wait (-rw)
timeout. In either case, Gweb presents the data received so far,
and automatically refreshes the screen contents periodically
(configurable with the -rs parameter).

Avoidance procedure: Disable the JavaScript guard by adding:

    -guard off

to the relevant host section in the gweb.cfg configuration file.
