Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0971: GlinkWeb, 'TSS on System J' demo gives JavaScript errors

Product: Glink Enterprise 7.2
Platform: All Windows
Status: Fixed for 7.2.2
Last updated: 2004-03-11 11:31:15

The Glink/Ggate configuration of the TSS demo uses 'interactive
parameters' that cause Glink to ask for USERID, PASSWORD and
PROJECT during connection. In GlinkWeb this functionality is
mapped to a HTML form that requests the same information. This
HTML form gives JavaScript errors if your browser is configured
to report them.

This problem occurs for all GlinkWeb connections using
interactive connection parameters.

The work-around for Internet Explorer is to ignore JavaScript
errors by setting the following options:

  tools/internet options/advanced/Browsing

    Disable script debugging: On
Display a notification about every script error: Off

Alternatively you can configure the demo's GLHOSTS.INI file to not
use dynamic parameters, by configuring your USERID, PASSWORD and
PROJECT statically.

In order to modify glhosts.ini you must start a copy of Glink
that has the correct configuration directory. Start a copy of
Glink manually using:

  Start menu->Programs->Glink Enterprise->Demo->TSS on System J

This startup file sets the Glink configuration directory to:

Then, using the Glink you have started, update the Glink/Ggate
host profile parameters in:

Enter your own parameters in the User ID, Password and Project
fields, remove the 'interactive' check marks and then save the
modified host profile. The modified profile is saved to
glhosts.ini in the correct config directory, if you used the
startup file specified above.

NOTE that the

files are READONLY, so you need to make

writable before you save. Also note that if config files are
writable the next Glink installation will NOT overwrite them,
and so after the modification you should change them back to
read only.
