Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0992: Host Links Windows, System Directory "R:\" was not accepted

Product: Gweb 6.1
Platform: Windows
Status: Fixed for 6.2, fix available for 6.1.1
Last updated: 2004-05-12 16:49:49

The Host Links and Gweb "System Directory" is the top-level
directory where some of the most important configuration files
and folders reside. The first task of a G&R application is to
verify that the System Directory is valid and populated with the
necessary configuration files. On Windows, this task is
performed by the "GstartW.DLL" program.

If the System Directory was specified as "R:\" (where 'R' is any
drive letter, from A thru Z), Gstart failed to recognize the
directory as a valid System Directory, even if the contents of
the directory were in order.

One work-around is to mount the R drive one level above, making
the path to the System Directory "R:\gar".

Another work-around is to use UNC format ("\\server\gar").
