Known Errors

These are the known errors in our products, logged as reported with versions and platforms affected as well as corrections and work-arounds.

This list is largely historical, since it records all problems that have been reported throughout G&R history. Only the most recently reported problems still exist, unless you are using a very old copy of the product, in which case you should update the product to the most recent version.

E0995: Gweb, external script input could be corrupted

Product: Gweb 6.1
Platform: All
Status: Fixed in 6.2, fix available for 6.1.1
Last updated: 2004-05-25 14:15:55

Gweb has the ability to call external scripts whenever data
arrives from the host or from the browser. The external scripts
are given a lot of information about the state of the session:
the content of the host screen, the process' environment
variables and so on. This information is passed to the external
program in a well-defined manner, called the External Script

In some circumstances, the data passed from Gweb to the external
program could be corrupted. Content of environment variables was
not sanitized, allowing control characters through to the script.
These could cause a protocol violation of the External Script
Interface. In particular, an environment variable could countain
a newline (hex 0A), which would break the line and cause the
external script to believe that it was reading a new record
with an illegal content.
